@Username vs Name Field on Instagram

What to Check After Saving

• ✦ View your public profile, not just the edit screen. Instagram may normalize the name after you save.
• ✦ If the name looks correct in edit mode but blank or missing in the public profile, the field was normalized during the save.
• ✦ If the name shows as a box on another device, the Unicode character is not rendering invisibly on that device.

Compatibility Notes

Instagram can change field-handling behavior in app updates. A character that worked in the Name field previously may be rejected in a later version. Retest when the app updates significantly.
