Username vs Display Name vs Handle

These are three different fields with different rules:

• ✦ Username or handle: the unique login identifier, often used in URLs. Most platforms require visible alphanumeric characters and do not allow invisible-only values.
• ✦ Display name: the visible label on your profile. Often allows more formatting than the handle, but still may reject invisible-only content.

Hangul Filler is the best first test for a blank-looking username with visible presence. No-Break Space is better for spacing beside visible text. Zero Width Space is the least likely to survive username validation.

Compatibility Notes

Usernames usually have stricter rules than display names. Some apps reject invisible Unicode outright, require visible alphanumeric characters, or silently remove invisible-only values after saving.
