How to Blank Your Bio on WhatsApp

IC By Invisible Copy Paste Team March 9, 2026

When you create a new WhatsApp account, the app forces a default status onto your profile. For years, the default has been the incredibly robotic and boring: “Hey there! I am using WhatsApp.”

Most people immediately delete it and replace it with a quote, an emoji, or their job title. But what if you don’t want a status at all? What if you want your “About” section to be completely, mysteriously empty?

If you try to delete the text and hit save, WhatsApp won’t let you. It requires at least one character.

To achieve the ultimate minimalist profile, you need to erase your digital whiteboard using invisible text.

The Minimalist Profile

Here is an unpopular opinion: Having a quote in your WhatsApp bio is cliché. A completely blank bio is the only way to look professional.

Your WhatsApp profile is often the first impression you make on a new contact, whether it’s a date or a business client. A cluttered bio with a cheesy quote can send the wrong message. A completely blank bio sends no message at all. It is clean, silent, and highly professional.

The Digital Whiteboard Analogy

Imagine walking into a conference room. The whiteboard on the wall has a giant, permanent marker stain that says “Hey there! I am using this whiteboard.”

You try to erase it, but the rules of the room dictate that the whiteboard must contain at least one drawing. You cannot leave it blank.

So, you draw a completely transparent square using invisible ink. The room’s security system scans the board, detects the ink, and allows you to walk away. To everyone else, the whiteboard looks beautifully, perfectly clean.

An invisible character is the invisible ink for your WhatsApp profile.

Step-by-Step: Erasing the “About” Status

To erase your WhatsApp status, you need a character that bypasses WhatsApp’s “trim” function. Because WhatsApp is primarily a messaging app, it is highly optimized to delete standard spaces.

You must use the Hangul Filler (U+3164) or an Em Space (U+2003).

  1. Grab the Ink: Open your browser and navigate to an invisible text generator.
  2. Copy the Character: Locate the Hangul Filler and hit the copy button.
  3. Open WhatsApp: Go to your WhatsApp Settings and tap on your profile.
  4. Edit “About”: Tap the “About” section (this used to be called the “Status” section).
  5. Paste and Save: Tap the pencil icon to edit your current status. Delete everything. Paste the invisible character from your clipboard. Hit Save.

Your profile will now show an eerie, perfectly clean blank space under your name.

The Ghost Profile Completion

If you want to take the aesthetic a step further, you can combine a blank “About” section with a completely empty profile picture (uploading a solid black or solid white square) and an Invisible Symbol for your Display Name.

Note: You must have at least one visible character in your WhatsApp display name if you are creating a new account, but you can change it to a blank Unicode string after the account is verified.

By blanking out your Name, Photo, and Bio, you create a “Ghost Profile.” When you message someone who doesn’t have your number saved, they will receive a message from an entirely nameless, faceless entity.

Pro Tip: WhatsApp frequently updates its web client (WhatsApp Web) independently of its mobile app. Sometimes, a blank bio that looks perfect on an iPhone will render as a glitchy box on WhatsApp Web. If this happens, switch your character from the Hangul Filler to the Braille Pattern Blank!
